SMT MicroPress Test Fixtures
Innovative, durable, and reconfigurable test fixtures designed for long-lasting performance and cost efficiency.
The Tooltronics MicroPress Test Fixture is a durable, precision test platform constructed from 6061 aluminum with a black anodized finish for long-lasting performance. Its retractable device head provides excellent accessibility and clear visibility of the test area for easy device insertion, alignment, and inspection.
The system utilizes interchangeable Personality Modules—device-specific assemblies consisting of a probe or contact plate, nest, and pressure pad. Modules can be quickly swapped to support different devices and test configurations.
Modules may be configured with pogo pins for SMT testing or with Tooltronics LPK and HPK Series contacts for through-hole applications, providing accurate, repeatable performance across a wide range of test environments.
Key Features & Demonstrations
The MicroPress... A Custom Test or Burn-in Socket
- Rugged billet aluminum construction
- Device head retracts for easy access
- Quick reconfiguration with Personality Modules
- 20-30% reduced Total Cost of Ownership
MicroPress Features & Benefits
Durability
Rugged Billet Aluminum construction insures long device lifetime. The MicroPress is built to withstand the rigors of continuous testing environments, providing years of reliable service without degradation in performance.
Accessibility
The device head retracts far back for easy access to the test area. This design feature allows technicians to quickly load and unload devices under test without obstruction, significantly reducing setup time and improving workflow efficiency.
Great Visibility
The device head retracts to a sufficient degree to provide a clear, unobstructed view of the test socket and device. This enhanced visibility enables precise device placement and allows for visual inspection during testing operations, reducing errors and improving quality control.
Reconfigurability
The Personality Module (consisting of the contact plate, nest, and press pad) can be quickly replaced to accommodate new test requirements. This modular design approach allows a single MicroPress fixture to be adapted for multiple device types, maximizing equipment utilization and reducing capital expenditure on dedicated test fixtures.
Reduced Total Cost of Ownership
The Total Cost of Ownership is significantly reduced due to the fact that reconfiguration costs are 20% to 30% less than non-MicroPress alternatives. By investing in a single, adaptable platform rather than multiple dedicated fixtures, companies can achieve substantial savings over the product lifecycle while maintaining testing flexibility.
